Best Private High Schools in Snohomish County
No Snohomish County private high school placed a student at Harvard, Princeton, or MIT in PolarisList's 2022-25 window, so this list orders on enrollment. Archbishop Murphy High School in Everett leads it: about 435 students in grades 9-12, the county's only Catholic high school and one of two co-educational Catholic high schools north of Seattle, with Eastside Catholic in Sammamish the other.
The rest of the list is Christian K-12 systems with secondary grades. Grace Academy in Marysville, founded in 1977 and accredited by both ACSI and Cognia, is the longest-running Christian K-12 in north Snohomish County at about 410 students. Academy Northwest in Woodinville, founded in 1981, enrolls about 285 and is unusual in running a full-time day program alongside a home-education extension with learning centers around the state. Fellow Christian School in Everett (about 200 students), Evangel Classical School in Marysville (about 185), and Arlington Christian School (about 120) are smaller church-affiliated programs. The Clearwater School in Bothell, about 70 students, is the county's one nonsectarian entry, a democratic free school on the Sudbury model.
Snohomish County has no secular independent college-preparatory high school. The nearest are across the King County line in Redmond, Kirkland, and Seattle, and that absence is the defining feature of the county's private secondary market: the choice is Archbishop Murphy, a Christian K-12, or a commute south.
