Rainier Christian Schools is a multi-campus Christian school system in south King County that, beginning with the 2025-26 year, operates under the name Redeemer Christian School. The district formed in 1994 from the merger of Kent View Christian Schools, which grew out of a Kent day care opened in 1972, and Maple Valley Christian School, founded in 1963 and once housed on a former Nike missile base near Lake Desire. The Renton-area campus counted in federal data enrolls about 275 students; the system as a whole serves roughly 1,200 from infants through 12th grade.
The 2025 rebrand folded in Renton Christian School, founded in 1979 and settled since 1995 on a 50-acre campus, giving Redeemer Christian three early learning centers, two elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school. That makes it the largest Christian school system between Seattle and Tacoma, larger than Auburn Adventist Academy and comparable in reach to Cascade Christian Schools in Puyallup. The tradeoff is dispersion: families may move between a Kent View or Maple Valley elementary, a Renton K-8, and a high school at Black Diamond rather than staying on one campus.
Campuses now include Renton (K-8), Kent View (K-6), and a 9-12 high school at Black Diamond, with athletics played as the Eagles after years as the Mustangs. The system holds Association of Christian Schools International and Cognia accreditation, belongs to the Washington Federation of Independent Schools, and is affiliated with New Life Church in Renton. Its mission is to develop students "rooted in Christ and equipped to change the world."
