Mannahouse Christian Academy's Vancouver campus is the Washington branch of a Portland church school system. The academy began in 1974 as Temple Christian Schools, a ministry of Bible Temple in Portland, with 101 students in grades K-12; it was later known as City Christian Schools and took the Mannahouse name in 2019 when its sponsoring congregation, formerly City Bible Church, rebranded as Mannahouse Church. In Vancouver the academy opened a preschool in 2010, added kindergarten in 2016, and in 2019 opened an elementary campus at 811 NE 112th Avenue. The Vancouver program enrolls about 250 students in preschool through eighth grade.
Among Clark County's Christian schools, Mannahouse is the one that is a direct ministry of a single large congregation with its high school across the river: Vancouver students who continue to grades 9-12 do so at the Portland campus on Rocky Butte. King's Way Christian Schools offers a complete PreK-12 in Vancouver, and Cornerstone Christian Academy is independent of any church. The tradeoff is a lower-cost, church-rooted elementary with a Portland pipeline, against the convenience of a Washington high school.
The system is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International and Cognia, enrolls more than 600 students across Portland, Vancouver, and a 25-acre Eugene campus opened in 2022, and partners with George Fox University for dual college credit at the high school. The Vancouver elementary offers interscholastic sports, short-term mission trips, and music and worship electives. The church is nondenominational and affiliated with Ministers Fellowship International.
