Gateway Christian Schools is the school system of Gateway Fellowship, an Assemblies of God congregation in Poulsbo, and has operated since 1974. It enrolls about 370 students across two Kitsap County campuses: the Eagles campus in Poulsbo at 18901 8th Avenue NE, which runs preschool through fifth grade, and Crosspoint Christian School in Bremerton, a K-12 campus on seven acres at 4012 Chico Way NW that accounts for most of the enrollment.
Among Kitsap County's Christian schools, Gateway is the one with a full kindergarten-through-12th-grade run on a single campus; most of the peninsula's other church-affiliated schools stop at eighth grade, and families otherwise cross to Tacoma or Seattle for a Christian high school. Serving a region shaped by Naval Base Kitsap, the schools enroll many military families and run an international student program with host-family placement. The tradeoff is that of a mid-sized system: a 10:1 student-teacher ratio and classes averaging 16 at Crosspoint, but a smaller course catalog and athletic program than the larger Christian high schools across the Sound.
Both campuses are members of the Association of Christian Schools International, and Crosspoint also holds Cognia accreditation. Crosspoint describes itself as college-preparatory, with fine and performing arts, interscholastic athletics as the Wildcats, and the Arrowsmith Program, a cognitive-skills curriculum aimed at students with learning difficulties. The Poulsbo campus offers specialist classes in art, music, computers, Spanish, and physical education, and shares its site with the Gateway Learning Center for early childhood education.
