Cascade Christian Academy is a Seventh-day Adventist day school in Wenatchee serving preschool through 12th grade, with about 230 students at 600 N Western Avenue. Founded in 1905, it has operated in the Wenatchee Valley for more than a century and is organized into elementary, middle, and secondary divisions on one campus, with a childcare and preschool program attached.
Within the Upper Columbia Conference, the Adventist alternatives are Upper Columbia Academy in Spangle, a boarding school, and Walla Walla Valley Academy in College Place, both well over a hundred miles away; Cascade Christian is the conference's day academy for north-central Washington and the only private school in Wenatchee that runs through a high school diploma. The tradeoff is that of a small denominational academy: a 12:1 to 19:1 student-teacher ratio and classes averaging 16, with a program organized around Adventist worship and the Sabbath, and fewer advanced courses than Wenatchee High School. The counterweight is a strong music tradition and a tightly knit K-12 community where most teachers know every student.
The school holds accreditation from the Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools, the National Council for Private School Accreditation, and the Association of Seventh-day Adventist Secondary Schools through the North American Division. It describes its curriculum as college-preparatory with math enrichment, student-led chapel, and a school-wide music program that includes band, a varsity handbell choir, and musical theater. Athletics compete as the Wolverines. The stated mission is to help students develop faith in God and use their knowledge and skills to serve God and community.
