Wenatchee High School traces its founding to 1885 and remains the lone comprehensive high school in the Wenatchee School District, serving roughly 2,080 students from the Columbia River apple-growing region in Chelan County. The campus draws students from across Wenatchee and surrounding orchard communities and serves as a regional hub for performing arts, athletics, and CTE.
The academic program features a wide AP catalog covering biology, calculus, chemistry, computer science, English literature, human geography, physics, statistics, and U.S. history, supplemented by Project Lead The Way and College in the Classroom dual-credit options. Highly Capable students access additional honors-level coursework through district HiCap pathways.
The Panthers play in the Big 9 Conference at the 4A level. In March 2026, KPQ reported that the boys basketball program won the WIAA 4A Academic State Championship with a team GPA of 3.742, the highest among all 4A boys basketball teams. Football has likewise been recognized for academic performance. The Wenatchee World provides ongoing coverage of athletics, the arts, and major school events including commencement at the Town Toyota Center.
