Washougal High School is the lone comprehensive 2A high school in the Washougal School District, perched on a bluff overlooking the Columbia River in eastern Clark County. Tracing its origins to a small high school program in 1909, the present campus serves about 950 students drawn from Washougal and surrounding parts of unincorporated Clark County between Camas and the Skamania County line.
The Panthers compete in the 2A Greater St. Helens League and have been one of the league's stronger fall-sports programs in recent seasons; the 2025 football team finished as 2A GSHL co-champion, defeating Fife 30-23 at Fishback Stadium in early November. Booster support comes through The Panther Foundation, which raises supplemental funds for athletics and activities.
Academically the school offers AP courses and dual-credit pathways through Clark College, plus CTE programs in business, engineering, and the arts. Roof-replacement work and tightened daytime campus-access policies have been recurring district topics in the Camas-Washougal Post-Record.
