University High School, known locally as U-Hi, anchors the Central Valley School District in Spokane Valley with about 1,400 students on a 44-acre campus that opened in 2002. The 240,000-square-foot building includes a 575-seat theater, a 2,030-seat gymnasium, and dedicated CTE wings for business, automotive, communications, and culinary programs.
Academics emphasize breadth and dual credit. In May 2024, the Spokesman-Review reported that U-Hi had been chosen as the district pilot for an associate-degree pathway built with Community Colleges of Spokane and Eastern Washington University, allowing students to graduate with an AA from Spokane Community College alongside their diploma. The program later expanded to Ridgeline and Central Valley high schools.
The Titans compete in the Greater Spokane League and have collected wrestling and fastpitch state titles. Athletic culture centers on the Stinky Sneaker, an annual cross-town basketball spectacle against Central Valley High School that fills Spokane Arena. Notable alumni include world-champion pole vaulter Brad Walker and NFL lineman Joe Dahl.
