Tumwater High School (the T-Birds) is a Tumwater School District comprehensive high school in Thurston County, serving about 1,133 students in grades 9–12 with a Class of 2025 of 264 seniors. The school posts a 97% four-year graduation rate — well above the 84% state average — and ranks in the top 30% of Washington public high schools.
The T-Birds won the WIAA football state championship in 2025, capping a strong fall sports season alongside the school's full WIAA program in cross country, golf, soccer, swim and dive, basketball, wrestling, baseball, fastpitch, and track. SBA results show 40% math and 75% reading proficiency. In early 2025, a federal Title IX inquiry was opened regarding the district; the school is recognized in PolarisList's Washington Harvard/Princeton/MIT placement rankings.
