Toledo High School is the small comprehensive high school for the Toledo School District in southern Lewis County, near the Cowlitz River about midway between Centralia and the Columbia. Enrollment is roughly 250 students, and the school competes as the Riverhawks at the 2B classification through the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association.
In May 2026, Toledo High School unveiled a 5-by-23-foot glass mosaic by artists Sandra and Carl Bryant in the school commons, commissioned through the Washington State Arts Commission's Art in Public Places program, which dedicates one-half of one percent of state construction costs to public art. The piece depicts local landmarks including Mount St. Helens, the historic Toledo steamboat, and area wildlife. The school's "Two Hands On The Wheel" student group runs an annual traffic-safety week featuring a mock crash, trial, and funeral with Lewis County Fire District 2 first responders and the Washington State Patrol.
The Daily Chronicle in nearby Centralia has covered Toledo graduates receiving local scholarships, athletic results, and school events. The school's small size, rural setting, and partnerships with Lewis County agencies define its profile.
