Shorewood High School is one of two comprehensive high schools in the Shoreline School District, opened in 1975 and the larger of the two — about 1,555 students in grades 9–12 with a 23:1 student/teacher ratio. The school competes in WIAA Class 3A as part of the Wesco League's District One.
Shorewood was named a 2025 AP School Honor Roll Silver school, recognized for AP program results and broadening access for students. The school is the #50-ranked WA school by PolarisList HPM placements. Coursework spans AP, Honors, and dual-credit pathways alongside a broad athletics and arts program. The Shoreline School District in 2025–26 continues its 2-high-school structure paired across Shorecrest and Shorewood.
