Rogers Adventist School is the K-8 campus of Walla Walla Valley Adventist Schools, a school of about 340 students at 200 SW Academy Way in College Place, next to Walla Walla University. It opened in 1892 as the Walla Walla College Normal Training School, the practice school for the Adventist college founded the same year, and has operated under six names since. Starting with the 2023-24 year it merged with neighboring Walla Walla Valley Academy, the 9-12 school, into a single K-12 system under one head of schools and one board.
Among Seventh-day Adventist elementary schools in the Upper Columbia Conference, Rogers is unusual for its size and for its setting in a university town with a large Adventist population; most conference schools are one- or two-room operations, and few sit beside a feeder academy. The merger, approved by 90 percent of the joint constituency in April 2023, took effect July 1 of that year and gave the combined schools 474 students at opening, with one application and registration process and shared calendars. The tradeoff for non-Adventist families is a program organized around the church's calendar and worship life; the advantage is a continuous K-12 path with coordinated music, athletics, math, and drama across the two campuses.
The school's mission is "Empowering Students for Christ." Programs include music groups, private music lessons, athletics, and ski days, with a unified spiritual plan providing age-appropriate worship and service across both campuses. The Upper Columbia Conference and Walla Walla University both had representatives on the task force that designed the merger.
