Port Townsend High School is a 1A comprehensive school in the Port Townsend School District on the Olympic Peninsula's Quimper Peninsula, serving about 390 students as the Redhawks. PTHS is the highest-ranked small high school on the Olympic Peninsula: SAT means around 1,260, AP pass rates above 86%, and a four-year graduation rate near 93%; US News ranked it 17th in Washington in 2025.
The Port Townsend School Board has placed a $99.25 million capital bond on the February 10, 2026 ballot to fund renovation of the aging Port Townsend High School (including safety and seismic upgrades and classroom modernization) and the relocation of the OCEAN K-12 alternative school to a renovated building on the high-school campus. The school was also honored by the Washington State School Recognition Program for progress on student-success indicators.
