Port Angeles High School is the largest comprehensive high school on the North Olympic Peninsula, serving about 996 students in grades 9–12 on a 33-acre campus a block from Olympic National Park, with views of the Olympic Mountain Range and the Salish Sea. The current building dates to 1953.
PAHS is the only U.S. high school offering Klallam language coursework, reflecting its proximity to the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe reservation and a substantial tribal-member student population. The school's Navy Junior ROTC 'Roughrider Company' has approximately 120 cadets and is a highly decorated unit. The school posts top-30%-in-WA test scores, with about 75% reading and 37% math proficiency. Port Angeles HS is the #20-ranked WA school by PolarisList HPM placements.
