Olympic High School opened in 1979 and is one of two comprehensive high schools in the Central Kitsap School District, serving about 1,190 students from a campus on Stampede Boulevard NW in unincorporated Bremerton. The Trojans compete in the Olympic League at the 2A level.
Academics include Advanced Placement courses, a College in the High School partnership with Central Washington University, and a Project Lead The Way engineering pathway. Sports medicine, vocal and instrumental music, and a Career and Technical Education portfolio that aligns with nearby Naval Base Kitsap employers round out the program.
The school is in the middle of a major modernization funded by a $220 million district bond passed in 2016. Phase one, completed in January 2019, delivered new CTE classrooms, a renovated library, an updated auditorium, and rebuilt commons space, although later phases were delayed by COVID-19 closures and construction issues. The renovated gymnasium also serves as home court for the Kitsap Admirals professional basketball team. Notable alumni include Apple software executive Scott Forstall, Death Cab for Cutie's Ben Gibbard, and Olympic bobsledder Bree Schaaf.
