Mercer Island High School (MIHS) is the only comprehensive high school in the Mercer Island School District, serving the King County island community of Mercer Island. The school is the #9-ranked WA school by PolarisList HPM placements and consistently ranks among the state's top public high schools by SBA results, SAT scores, and graduation rate.
In fall 2025, the school's cross-country program won state double-championships, with a senior recording one of the state's first sub-4-minute mile times. For the 2025–26 school year, MIHS expanded its cell-phone-free classroom policy to include laptops and tablets, an unusual move among large WA public high schools. The campus runs a deep AP catalog, college-prep counseling, and broad WIAA athletics.
