Mead Senior High School is a 4A comprehensive school in the Mead School District in north Spokane, serving about 1,840 students as the Panthers. It is one of the most decorated schools in WIAA history, with cumulative state placements counted in the dozens across multiple sports.
Academic performance places Mead solidly above the Spokane-area median: SAT means just under 1,180, AP pass rates above 76%, four-year graduation in the low 90s, and direct-to-four-year-college enrollment around 45%. The district celebrated Mead students at the 33rd annual Spokane Scholars Foundation awards in April 2025 and named a new Assistant Superintendent of Learning Services for the 2025-26 school year. A federal lawsuit related to alleged harassment in the athletics program is currently pending.
