Despite its name, Lynnwood High School sits on a 60-acre campus at 18218 North Road in unincorporated south Snohomish County, with a Bothell mailing address. It is one of nine high schools in the Edmonds School District and enrolls roughly 1,350 students. The Royals compete in the Wesco 3A division.
The school's modern campus was rebuilt in the late 2000s as part of an Edmonds School District capital program. Programs include Advanced Placement coursework, an International Baccalaureate-style global studies emphasis, and CTE pathways supported by the district's career and technical education department. About a quarter of students take AP exams in a typical year.
Lynnwood athletics have been particularly visible in recent volleyball seasons: the Royals captured back-to-back District 1 3A titles in 2023 and 2024 and finished eighth at the 3A state tournament in Yakima in November 2024 after a third-place state finish the year prior. Girls basketball won the school's first state title in 2014-15 with a Tacoma Dome victory over Cleveland.
