Lakeside High School is the only comprehensive high school in the Nine Mile Falls School District, serving roughly 495 students from Nine Mile Falls, Suncrest, and the Long Lake reservoir corridor northwest of Spokane. The campus along State Route 291 sits among the ponderosa-pine bluffs of the lower Spokane River.
Academics include Advanced Placement courses, Project Lead The Way engineering, and a Highly Capable program. The school's four-year graduation rate of 95.8 percent in 2023-24 ranked well above the Washington state average. The Spokesman-Review profiled 2025 graduate Adam Edwards in its annual Best of the Class series, and in spring 2026 the paper covered the district's capital levy seeking funding for a new roof, an updated track, and security cameras at Lakeside.
The Eagles compete in the Northeast A League at the 1A classification, with strong cross country, basketball, football, and baseball traditions. Independent site 9milesports.com provides detailed local coverage of athletics. Lakeside's small-school feel and proximity to Riverside State Park have made outdoor education and field-based science a fixture of the curriculum.
