Kamiakin High School is a 4A comprehensive school in the Kennewick School District in the Tri-Cities, serving about 1,970 students as the Braves. It is the second of three comprehensive high schools in the district and was opened in fall 1970.
Academic performance places Kamiakin in the top third of Washington high schools: SAT means around 1,110, AP pass rates above 63%, four-year graduation around 91%, and roughly 20 cumulative WIAA state placements across more than 20 sport programs. In September 2025, Kennewick Police arrested a 14-year-old following an FBI tip about a social-media post threatening the school; classes continued. The district is asking voters to approve two replacement levies on the February 10, 2026 special-election ballot.
