Foster Senior High School is a 2A comprehensive school in the small Tukwila School District just south of Seattle, serving about 910 students as the Bulldogs. Founded in 1915, Foster has anchored Tukwila's community life for more than a century. Academic outcomes track well below state median (SAT means around 830, AP pass rates near 31%, four-year graduation around 89%) but the school operates the most concentrated college-access program of any district in the South King County corridor.
That program — the Tukwila Promise — covers the full cost of attendance at Highline College for Foster graduates, with wraparound transition support. Foster has also become a sustainability proving ground: a birch compostable-utensils pilot eliminated more than 233,000 plastic utensils annually through a partnership with the City of Tukwila.
