Puyallup Elementary is one of three K-6 elementary campuses in the Cascade Christian Schools network — a nondenominational Christian district headquartered in Puyallup serving roughly 1,900 students from infancy through grade 12 across Pierce County. Cascade Christian was officially founded in 1992 from the consolidation of three church-affiliated schools and graduated its first high school class in 1994.
Among Pierce County's Christian K-12 systems, Cascade Christian is by enrollment the largest non-Catholic option, sitting alongside Bellarmine Preparatory (Tacoma, Catholic) and Charles Wright Academy (Tacoma, secular independent) on the size scale but distinguished from both by its evangelical orientation and multi-campus elementary model. Lighthouse Christian (Gig Harbor, K-8) and the smaller Pierce County parochial schools occupy the smaller end of the same category.
In September 2025 the Puyallup Elementary campus completed a roughly $4 million relocation onto the Pioneer Campus shared with Cascade Christian's junior high and high school, moving into 14 newly built modular classrooms designed for 325 K-6 students. The consolidation reduces operational overhead and creates a contiguous K-12 footprint at the Pioneer site. Cascade Christian Schools is approved by the Washington State Board of Education, accredited by ACSI in partnership with Cognia, and a member of the Washington Federation of Independent Schools.
